An examination of Exodus 12:40 seen here in the Dead Sea Scroll 4Q14 Exod shows a variant to the Masoretic Text, but synchrony to the Samaritan Pentateuch with the inclusion of ארץ (erets) preceding Egypt. Unfortunately, the words just before this part of the verse are a missing lacuna, unable to provide any definitive telling whether the preceding text contains "Canaan" as part of the total 430-year sojourn as read in the SP and the Greek Septuagint.
In this instance, it appears the MT is a variant of the earlier DSS regarding Exodus 12:40.
